If you're looking for a beautiful and immersive night of all things Jazz, Funk and Soul, then look no further than Cafe 1001's live event series, every Wednesday night. Hidden away just off Brick Lane is one of east London's favourite musical gems, a venue that has a reputation for uncovering and showcasing some of the city's best talent, for all genres and styles of music
Every Wednesday evening, from 8pm-close, the space is transformed into a cosy and intimate jazz bar style lounge, with live musicians and DJs taking to the stage. Come and experience a relaxing night soundtracked by some of the city's most renowned Jazz artists, in the comfort of the warm and intimate loft space
The current Jazz, Funk, Soul residents at Cafe 1001 are Suedejazz Collective, Jay Carter & Francesco Nasone, the Edmund Adonis Trio, and Jay Phelps. Suedejazz Collective always bring the perfect dynamic to the space, with guest artists joining for each night, essentially a jam session open to all instruments and vocalists. One you'll want your dancing shoes for! Jay Carter & Francesco Nasone are an award winning duo, whose show features the trumpet, double bass and guitar, and then you have the Edmund Adonis Trio, whose sets feature drums, bass, and the saxophone. And last but certainly not least is Jay Phelps. One of the most diverse and exciting performers, he layers live trumpet over his DJ sets, taking his audiences on a journey through balearia, funk, and soul
Cafe 1001 accept table bookings in advance, and happy hour runs until 8pm every Wednesday so make sure to head down early for a few mid-week cocktails!
